Statesboro Blues – Taj Mahal
We lost Butch Trucks this year (self inflicted gun shot) and Greg Allman (fucking cancer).
The story goes that he heard this Taj Mahal album – brought it to his brother Duane who was recovering from a motorcycle accident and not in a great mood. Greg was kicked out of the house only to be called a few hours later by Duane. He had mastered the slide guitar and with it gave birth to the Allman Brothers sound.
This whole album is incredible. If you don’t have it – go get it.
